On April 30th, Western Fraternal Life agents came to Cedar Rapids, Iowa from all over the country for a two day conference. Several agents were first-timers to wfla and the conference while others were long-time agents. They came to share best practices, learn from one another, and to gain insight from top-notch speakers.
The afternoon started with lunch and mingling before diving right into the first speaker, Dr. Lisa Van Allen. Dr. Lisa is a life and business coach and consultant and her presentation was called Mastering Your Sales Psychology. Lisa asked the agents to dig deep and find out what their passions were, and to make sure that their passions align with Western Fraternal Life’s mission. After some soul searching, it was time for dinner and more mingling!
The next morning started with an explanation of the re-organization of the sales and marketing department within wfla from Rudy Pino. Rudy explained that Sales will now be lead by him as Assistant Sales Manager with the help of Randy Pfeiler and Shannon Daugherty. Marketing will be led by Dan Anderegg with help from Kelsey Clapp. Next, agents were awarded for their performance in 2013.
After further explanation of sales contests and sales trip qualifications, two of wfla’s agents who have long time experience with life insurance and financial products gave a joint-presentation. Fabian Seyller and Brad Pratt were a dynamic team who lead a thoughtful discussion on what it really takes to be a long-term successful agent. Together, they were able to share their experiences of starting out and the best tools they used to become successful in their respective businesses.
The final speaker of the day was Kristen Hartnagel, a professional sales consultant, speaker, coach and trainer. Kristen represents Southwestern consulting and speaks on behalf of their sales consulting business. Kristen spoke to the agents about the getting and keeping prospects. Kristen also spoke about the value of getting a sales coach to become accountable in your sales. Coaching was heavily endorsed by several in the room.
The conference was a great success thanks to the great planning of those in the Marketing and Sales department and the agents who made it possible!
